Wingstem is a large perennial that can reach 8 feet tall and 2 feet wide. It grows best in full to part sun, in moist soils of various compositions. Showy yellow pollinator magnet flowers emerge in late July through October. It is a host plant to a few moth species, including the Gold Moth. It is an important pollen and nectar source, up there with Goldenrods and Asters, for late season resource stocking.
