Liquidambar styraciflua, Sweetgum  - this large tree can grow to reach 100' in ideal conditions. It is tolerant of a wide range of growing conditions. The seeds it produces feed a wide variety of birds and mammals over the colder months. It is a host plant for many caterpillars including the Luna Moth, Imperial Moth, and Hickery Horndevil.
