This perennial grows to be about 3' tall. It will grow in Full Sun to Full Shade, moist to dry soils, and various pH and compositions. Starry Rosinweed is a long bloomer with flowers emerging in June and continuing to bloom into September. It supports 10 specialized bee species as well as many other pollinators. Songbirds seek out the seeds as a food source in summer and fall. Silphium is a host to a few beetle and moth species, including a few insects that only host on Silphium.
