This large perennial grows from 3 to 10 feet tall and about 3 feet wide. It grows best in full sun or part shade, in moist to wet soils, and a wide range of soil compositions. The yellow blooms emerge July through October attracting many pollinators. Its seeds are a favorite for the American Goldfinch in the fall.
