Passiflora incarnata, Passionflower is a popular, fast-growing, perennial vine with climbing or trailing stems and large, intricate, fragrant, showy flowers. It can reach lengths of 10-25'. Easily grown in average, medium, well-drained soils in full sun to part shade, it is tolerant of drought once established. Spreads by root suckers to cover large areas in optimum growing conditions. Flowers bloom mid-to-late summer and fleshy, edible, egg-sized fruits mature into fall. A favorite of bees and other pollinators.
