Dwarf Violet Iris is a perennial flower that grows to be 6-8" tall and easily spreads by seeds and rhizomes. Similar to the more common Dwarf Iris, Iris cristata, but the leaves are more narrow and upright. Growing best in part shade with moist, acidic, and loamy soil. It can tolerate drier soils once established. It's showy purple blooms emerge mid spring. Iris is a host to a wide range of insects including the beautiful Virginia Ctenucha
