Grayleaf Goldenrod is a perennial plant that will typically reach about 2 feet tall. It requires full sun, but will tolerate a wide range of soil conditions. Its golden yellow flowers start to emerge in August and can keep blooming into November as long as there isn't a heavy frost. The flowers attract a wide range of butterflies, honey bees, other pollinating insects, and many of our native specialized bees. Songbirds will utilize the seeds as a food source in the colder months.
Native to nearly every county in NC. Click to view its range in North Carolina.
