Fragaria x ananassa, Everbearing strawberry -  this is a low-growing, hybrid perennial, cultivated around the world for its large, sweet, flavorful aggregate fruits. Mature plants will reach up to 1' tall and spread to fill a 2' area. The compound leaves form a dense, mounding rosette and will spread by above-ground stolons, eventually forming new plantlets.  Plant strawberries in full sun to partial shade and 1 - 2.5' apart in rows spaced 3 - 5' apart. They prefer highly organic loam or clay soil that is moist but has good drainage.
